On 13 October 2023, Legal Aid Counsel / Legal and Management Support, Ms April Wong briefed a group of students from a secondary school on the work and services of the Department, and shared with them career-related information. Students also attended court case hearing at the High Court for a first-hand experience.

On 10 October 2023, Assistant Principal Legal Aid Counsel / Legal and Management Support, Mr David Chow and Assistant Principal Legal Aid Counsel / Application & Processing, Mr Ted Lee conducted a training course for solicitors, namely “Update on Legal Aid Schemes”, organised by the Hong Kong Academy of Law.

On 17 May 2023, Legal Aid Counsel / Crime, Mr James Yeung, gave a talk to a group of newly arrived ethnic minorities organised by the International Social Service Hong Kong Branch. He introduced the scope of legal aid services, and explained application procedures and requirements and eligibility criteria.

On 29 April 2023, the Association for the Rights of Industrial Accident Victims and Hong Kong Repertory Theatre organised a stage performance for secondary school students on youth occupational safety based on actual work-related injury cases. Assistant Principal Legal Aid Counsel, Miss Ada Wong, (fourth from right, back row) attended and joined the exchange session afterwards.

On 28 March 2023, Senior Legal Aid Counsel / Civil Litigation, Miss Fanny Lo (right), hosted a talk for frontline staff and volunteers of Po Leung Kuk Tsui Lam Centre and introduced the work and services of the Department relating to family issues such as divorce, maintenance, child custody and application for restraining order.

On 12 February 2023, Hong Kong held its 25th Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon. The Director of Legal Aid, Mr Chris Chong, joined our colleagues and those from the Chief Secretary for Administration's Office in forming a volunteer team to distribute the runner’s packs at the Victoria Park on February 10.

On 10 February 2023, the Association for the Rights of Industrial Accident Victims and UOW College Hong Kong, had together with Hong Kong Repertory Theatre organised a stage performance to promote to secondary school students about youth occupational safety based on actual work-related injury cases.
After performance by the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre, the Deputy Director of Legal Aid (Application & Processing) Ms Juliana Chan shared with the students on the works and services provided by the Legal Aid Department in handling the requests for assistance on work injury cases.
